Gasmet Model DX-4000 FTIR
Multigas Portable Analyzer
The Gasmet™ Portable Sampling System has been designed to enable stack measurements with the portable DX-4000 FTIR Gas Analyzer. The principle of operation is hot-wet extractive, i.e. the sample gas is not dried or diluted – only particles are filtered out. As an option, the sampling system can also be supplied with a built-in ZrO2 cell for oxygen measurements. The portable sampling system is complemented by a portable heated probe and heated sample gas lines. All parts in contact with the sample are kept at 180 C.
Technician Note: Proper FTIR sampling requires a clean, high temperature sample transport system. AMP-Cherokee can provide additional items such as sample probe/filters and heated sample lines to meet the needs of FTIR sampling. AMP-Cherokee can also aid with your sampling needs via training or on-site assistance.

Each Gasmet™ gas analyzer is supplied with analysis software that is designed in-house by Gasmet Technologies own software development team. Calcmet software is easy-to-use and allows up to 50 gas compounds to be analyzed simultaneously.
Calcmet™ - From Spectrum to Results
The advanced, easy-to-use Calcmet™ software provides outstanding analytical performance. Calcmet™ analyzes the sample spectrum using sophisticated and patent protected multicomponent algorithms. Calcmet™ is capable of simultaneous detection, identification and quantification of up to 50 different gas components. Cross-interference effects are compensated for and analysis accuracy is maintained even when analyzing complex gas mixtures where there is a possibility of spectral overlapping.
The software is also designed for easy and efficient processing of the results. Since water content of the sample gas is continuously measured with the Gasmet™, the results can be reported on either a “wet” or “dry” basis. The results can also be compensated for the correct oxygen levels.
Accurate results are available within seconds. Since the sample spectra are stored as separate files on an external computer, they can be easily re-analyzed with different analysis settings even after years. Calcmet™ software also allows the identification of previously unknown components – a feature that has often shown its value in process control, for example. Calcmet™ also supports both analog 4 - 20 mA outputs and digital protocols (e.g. MODBUS, PROFIBUS etc.)
Portable Sampling Unit
The Gasmet Portable Sampling Unit is used for on-site measurements. It can be used for measuring trace concentrations of pollutants in wet, corrosive gas streams. The sample gas can be measured undiluted and without drying since the sample pump, heated filter and valve are located in a module that is heated to 180 ºC. From the Sampling Unit the gases can be directed into Gasmet FTIR gas analyzer.
The Gasmet Portable Sampling Unit includes power connections and temperature controllers for heated lines and heated module. The Gasmet Portable Sampling Unit is connected to an external PC through Gasmet FTIR Gas Analyzer and can be controlled by Calcmet software.
The function of the Portable Sampling Unit is automatic, but sample pump and valve can be controlled also manually. In the case of a power failure or if the temperature (pump, lines, sample cell) is below setting, the automatic 3-way valve switches sample gas to zero gas to prevent condensation. Sample pump can not be switched on before all temperatures have reached the setting. In addition, the zero calibration of the Gasmet FTIR gas analyser can be done automatically with the Portable Sampling System.
As an option, the sampling unit can be equipped with a sample probe and / or heated lines. The maximum length for the heated line is 19m + 1m with 230 VAC and 9m + 1m with 115 VAC power supply. There is also an optional integrated O2 – sensor that supplements the capabilities of the Gasmet FTIR gas analyzers.

Portable Gas Sample Probe
The portable gas sample probe PSP4000-H... is electrically heated. Temperature controlling is achieved by an integrated capillary sensor-thermostat, adjustable from 100 to 180 °C. A signal lamp is extinguished on reaching the operating temperature and flashes in the cycle of temperature regulation. A carrying handle and a chain for in situ attachment are mounted on the heat-isolated housing.
The integrated micro-filter element with a fineness degree of 2 μm reliably retains solid impurities and can be changed easily. For heavy-oil firing measurements, a stainless-steel filter cartridge /FW for filter-pads is optionally available.

Stack Testing Application Notes
Portable GasmetTM measuring system is an ideal tool for stack testing. Just a single analyzer can be used to measure almost all criteria pollutants - this saves a lot of time and effort, not to mention the fast setup time and simple operation procedure.
Some key benefits of the GasmetTM portable measuring system include:
- Just one analyser to carry up to the platform
- Very low need for calibrations – no span calibrations needed
- All measurement data is stored on a computer, allowing full post-measurement processing of the data
-The same system can be used in many different applications, due to the expandability of the system
